Jane Eyre is a ten years old orphan who lives with her uncle’s family. her parents had died of illness. Except for the nursemaid, the family hates Jane a lot. She was sent to the austere Lowood Institution, a charity school, where she and the other girls are mistreated. In the face of such adversity, however, she becomes strength and confidence.
When she is adulthood, after several years as a student and then a teacher at Lowood, Jane assemble the courage to leave. She finds work as a governess at Thornfield Hall, where she meets her employer, the wealthy and talented Edward Rochester. At Thornfield, Jane looks after Adèle, the daughter of a French dancer, and also know the kindly housekeeper Mrs. Alice Fairfax. Suddenly, Jane falls in love with Rochester, also Rochester feels that he love Jane at the same time.
At their wedding day, Jane found that Rochester cannot marry her, because someone came to say that he already has a wife, Bertha Mason, who has gone mad and is locked away in a room because of her bad behavior; Jane felt very sad and then live the Rochester. She was really sad but hse must leave even she still love him.
Then she goes to the place that the man help her, St. John, He gives her a job and soon proposes marriage her, suggesting that she join him to India. Jane at beginning agrees to leave with him but not as his wife. Is his sister. But, St. John pressures her to reconsider his proposal, and a wavering Jane finally knows how to do. Just then, she hears a call from Rochester. Jane returns to Thornfield to find the burned house and then saw Rochester is already blind. But this time she didn't leave. Finally, they get together.
